Nerve Block Gallery - Left Popliteal Sciatic Nerve Block

Caption

20 year old female with a history of IV drug use presents with a sizable calf abscess. She is admitted to the hospital for sepsis criteria and abscess drainage. She prefers no analgesia, therefore a popliteal sciatic nerve block is performed (demonstrated by injection of anesthetic adjacent to sciatic nerve) with resolution of her pain and successful incision and drainage.
