Orbital - Consensual Light Reflex
Caption
Seen is the constriction of the Pupillary Sphincter when a light is shone on the contralateral pupil, demonstrating the Consensual Pupillary Reflex. In the setting of severe Orbital trauma and swelling, POCUS may be used to assess this reflex arc. Dysfunction in the arc may be associated with pathology at the Retina, Midbrain, Optic, and/or Oculomotor nerve. Dr. Mohamed Elfatihi and Dr. Surriya Ahmad - Kings County Emergency Medicine
